Originally a cottage built in 1850, the house was extended in 1875 to provide a school room and school mistress's house. It reverted back to residential use in the 1950's when Graham Sutton a locally well known author and playwright took up residence. Dancing Beck has considerable charm and character. It stands in an elevated position with magnificent panoramic views of the nearby mountain ranges and the Newlands valley. Situated on the lower slopes of Skiddaw, Dancing Beck is only two miles from Keswick and only one mile from the A66 Bassenthwaite Lake and the Osprey nest viewing point. This is set in extensive forest trails, accessible from our doorstep.

This welcoming bed and breakfast accommodation consists of a large dining room with original Lakeland slate flooring. Double aspect windows afford views to the high fells, whilst to the rear one may catch a glimps of our red squirrels. The relaxing lounge has, again, the wonderful views, an open fire and television are available all day. NO Smoking
